Would You Like to Know the Best Aerobic Exercise for Weight Loss?
The Shocking Truth You've Not Been Told about Cardio
I do actually have THREE answers to the best aerobic exercise question. And I’m really going to give you a straight forward response. Really. But first…(aw, come on, you knew there was a catch, didn’t you?) Are you the type of person who DETESTS cardio? I am. In fact, I am a
cardio snob!
I know. I’m sorry. I wish I could be “the wind beneath your wings” here. But I’m no Denise Austen, or whatever perky, disgustingly joyful exercise guru you’re familiar with. I do indeed love yoga and Pilates, and even a bit of weightlifting, but most other forms of exercise, honestly, I could do without. So now that I’ve revealed a rather embarrassing personal trait, let me tell you something else that may shock you. I don’t believe in traditional cardio. Well, let me put it this way, for weight loss and looks, it’s not necessary, at least not in the traditional sense. For heart health, I don’t know. I’m no cardiologist but I’m guessing doing some cardiovascular exercise is good. First let me tell you why I don’t believe in aerobics-aside from the fact that I REALLY, REALLY want to refute its validity. From first hand knowledge, I’ve found that people see little to no results. You can observe these people at the gym, running like hamsters on a wheel, day after day, month after month. And they seem to stay exactly the same. So I just don’t buy it. I consider it a time-consuming exercise in futility. Am I stating that too mildly? Now, at this point, let me clarify by saying that when I say cardio or aerobics, I’m really talking about a treadmill or cycling, where you’re spending upwards of half an hour mindlessly moving and getting nowhere. I think I’ve made my point clearly enough now. So, let me finally stop ranting and tell you the best aerobic exercise for weight loss. Actually, I’ll overdeliver and give you three. 1. Jumping rope. I’ve consulted with many people on this one. And they all agree that it’s a quick, efficient way to get an aerobic workout. Try it and you’ll see, it doesn’t take long. It’s also cheap and relatively easy (until you give yourself a good lashing with that rope---OUCH!). 2. Swimming. If you have issues with your joints, swimming can be a much better choice for the best aerobic exercise. It’s gentler and is more of an all-over workout, as it provides resistance at the same time you are getting your heart pumping. 3. If you simply must run to feel like you are accomplishing something, don’t do distance. Sprint. I’m not all about scientific explanations, so I won’t bore you with a lot of the research that I have done on this. Sprints are quick and effective. Nuff said. There you have it, three of the best aerobic exercises for weight loss. Now, you just have to DO IT.
