Are You Struggling with Fat Loss and Muscle Gain?
Are you looking for fat loss and muscle gain? Most of us are. And although I always try to keep things very simple for you, there is a bit of a balancing act with this topic. What I mean by that is, while you are working out hard, in an attempt to build muscle, you do not want to end up burning off your muscle by being too short of calories. However, if you have excess calories floating around, isn’t that going to turn to fat? But, if you are dieting, again, aren’t you actually slowing your metabolism? Gets confusing quickly, doesn’t it? Well, the thing to remember is that you’ve got to work WITH your metabolism. That’s the ONLY way you are going to achieve fat loss and muscle gain. So I will warn you now, if you are looking for the latest diet, supplement, or other potion, just click away now. I’ve no desire to work with people who are looking for a magic bullet. So what the heck does that mean-- Work with your metabolism? The metabolism is a very sensitive and complex creature and trying to trick it…I just don’t recommend that. I’ve seen so many people take these pills and maybe a few of them lost weight, but as soon as they quit the pills, the weight comes back (oftentimes with bonus pounds!). So any form of starvation dieting is not an option. Food choices need to be balanced and healthy. If you are really building muscle, you will want to make sure you are getting a lot of lean protein. And if you hit a plateau, you may need to increase protein intake again. Also, most people are severely deficient in healthy fats. Most of the fats we get today are the unhealthy kind.
The balancing act of fat loss and muscle gain can be addressed in a couple different ways. It’s up to you to find what strategy will work best for you. Doing something is always better than doing nothing. Remember that. Do what you can. Some of the expensive weight loss programs focus solely on the fat loss and hope for you to maintain as much as you can of muscle. This program does not offer any form of exercise program with it. That is all up to you. So, most of these participants are totally inactive anyway, and end up losing what little muscle they have. So for most people I wouldn’t recommend this. If you are seriously obese, then yes, and if you are already very active, sure. I just like a more balanced approach, where you are eating healthy and exercising right. Sidenote: If you'd like some detailed info on exercising right, I recommend two articles in particular:

In the end, I guess I’m going with simple even when it comes to fat loss and muscle gain. I’d just recommend becoming very aware of your eating habits, sensing when you have had enough, and if you are feeling hungry a lot, hello, you’ve got to increase it some. Get lots of fiber, fruits and veggies. Do not let yourself get discouraged by lack of results. Make sure you are getting some quick results. If not, consult with a professional to get right on track.
