I spend a lot of time on research and reading all the "diet books", checking out other health and fitness websites, etc. This stuff is really interesting to me and I love sharing what I learn. But there seems to be so many people out there just to make a buck off of people struggling to get in better shape. The information is frequently confusing, often even completely contradictory, so who do you believe? My personal philosophy is one of wholeness. By that I mean, you don't just address nutrition, or just exercise, but you have to include several factors, which I try to incorporate into a well-balanced program. Let me demonstrate why I think this way.

Who the Heck Am I Anyway?

My name is Jennifer Scherlizin and I got into the health and fitness field years ago for personal reasons. No, I wasn't 300 pounds or anything. In fact, I was disgruntled to be overly thin (back then!). But I did suffer from chronic blindingly painful headaches on nearly a daily basis. I was unable to find relief for several years before I found yoga and Pilates. That's where my life started to turn around. And because of the powerful effects this had on my own quality of life, I wanted to share it with others. Who Is This For and What's Included?

I have an ideal client. Let me explain who she is. Yes, a woman. I never have trained men, and I haven't any intention to do so. My ideal client is generally in the age range of 40-55, although I have an absolutely wonderful client who is 73. (Don't tell her I told you!) Generally, my best clients have been professional women. I find them to be decisive, unafraid to invest in themselves, and very diligent once they've made a commitment. Those are the kind of women that are successful in getting amazing results. You certainly don't have to be a high-level executive, but I do expect you to be decisive, serious, and diligent. I also request that you be:

A) Open to Change, and

B) Looking for a permanent solution, not magical pixie potion!

Here's another way to look at it:

This program is not some fluffy, try-it-and-see kindof thing. I've dealt with that before. First of all, that's the wrong attitude going in, and I don't want to invest my time in you if you are going to go right back to the way things were. So, private weight loss coaching with me requires a year commitment. Yes, you read that right. When you think about it, it's not that big of a deal. How fast have you seen a year fly by in your life? And how many times has it seemed like nothing really changed for you in that amount of time? So, when you consider that it takes a good 90 days to create a good habit, and then longer to firmly cement it, and include a few plateaus, challenges and setbacks in various forms, well, looky there, a years gone by and who is this? A slimmer, healthier, calmer, more relaxed version of that crazy stressed unhealthy person you were. If not now, then when? OK, I'll stop preaching. In fact, I should tell you right now, I'm not really preachy. I'm not one of those raw foodie people, or vegan, hell, I'm not even vegetarian. I try to make it simple for you without giving in to the masses to make a buck and say it is OK to eat frickin' McDonald's. It's not. (sorry, this book I'm reading has me a bit riled!)
